Obama - Good or Bad for America?

Barack Obama – Canadians overwhelmingly love this man, but do the majority of us actually know anything about him?  Sure he is intelligent, likeable, gives a great speech, and is an entertaining guest on the talk show circuit, but do we know anything else?  The mainstream media gives him a free pass no matter what he does or says?   Have you ever heard anything negative about him?   Not much, I’m guessing.

President Obama and the Democratic Party represent the takers in society.  They want big government to take care of everyone (the takers) and they want to raise taxes-- especially on the rich—to pay for it.  At least they say they want to take it from the rich because people like to hear that, but it will mostly be the middle class paying for it.   Europe has already tried and failed miserably with this type of solcialism.  You would think the Americans would want to learn from the mistakes of Europe, but instead they want to follow them right into the abyss.

The Republicans on the other hand represent the makers in society.  They want smaller government and for people to take care of themselves for the most part, with a safety net for the people who can’t.  They want to reduce regulation for businesses to make it easier and less expensive to operate so they can hire people, get people working.  Obama wants to add more taxes and regulation which makes it less likely businesses will hire more people.  Remember Obama’s famous words to business people and entrepreneurs “You didn’t build that”.   Oh, I forgot, you probably didn’t hear about that either, unless you watch Fox News or Sun TV,

Obama is also about protectionism.  If Americans starting “buying American”, where does that leave Canadians.  Two-thirds of what Canadians produce is exported to the States.  Yet we are so pro-Obama.  I don’t get it. 

And what about Benghazi???  If what Obama allowed to happen to the Americans in Benghazi, Libya, had been done by a Republican president, he would have been impeached by now.   There is hard proof in the form of emails from the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi to the White House requesting extra protection because they had strong suspicions that they were going to be attacked on the anniversary of 9/11.  The White House did nothing.  Even though there was time to send reinforcements, they did nothing.  Then after the attack, in which Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were tortured (which included being sodomized),  were killed, and their bodies dragged through the streets, President Obama and his staff repeatedly stuck to the “story” that the attack was in response to a pathetic You-Tube movie slamming Islam, which was made by an American.   It was reported by Fox News and Sun TV that the White House knew this was not true and knew it right from the start, yet they repeated the lie time and again and the mainstream media swallowed it, hook, line, and sinker.   Even after the truth came out, the mainstream media mostly just ignored it.

His chumminess with the Muslim world is also unsettling along with his desire for America to NOT be the super power.  If America is not the super power, another country will assume that role.  Who will that be?  China?  What does that mean for the rest of the western world?  What does that mean for Canada?  Without America to crack down on the bullies of the world, bullies that do horrible things to their own people, what kind of world will that be?

Finally, there is the question of President Obama’s past—his ties to a professor (his mentor) who was a card carrying communist.  Any other president with the slightest tie to a communist would be crucified by the media.   Is that the view he has for America?   Or should I say Amerika?

All I have left to say is I hope I am wrong about him.  I really, really do.    

The Lies of the Left

The US Democratic Party prides itself on being all inclusive.  They are the party that does not discriminate against anyone.  They do, of course, discriminate if you are conservative minded or, heaven forbid, a Christian although they would never admit it.

The mean, old, rich, fat, white guys you see in the movies and on TV are almost always portrayed as Republicans.  Without even thinking about it, if you were asked, your first impulse would be that he is a Republican.  That’s what I always thought without questioning it.  However, it is wrong.  Dead wrong.

The Ku Klux Klan was started by Democrats after the American Civil War.  President Abraham Lincoln, who we all know freed the slaves during the Civil War, was a Republican.  I remember being surprised when I first heard that he was a Republican because it didn’t fit into what I thought a Republican would do.   Then I found out that it was the Republicans who passed the Civil Rights Act of 1866 which provided “full and equal benefit of all laws” to ALL citizens.  It was also the Republicans who tried and eventually succeeded in passing “anti-lynching” laws.  It took a few generations to get this particular law passed because it was vetoed by the Democrats time and time again.

Ann Coulter has just released a new book entitled “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama”.  In it she points out the hypocrisy of the Democrats--who have been playing the race card against the Republicans for the last 30 to 40 years.  She also points out that "It was the Thirteenth Amendment which ended slavery and 80 percent of Democrats voted against it."  The Republican Party has never been the racist party in the US.  It was the Democrats.

Pay attention the next time you watch a movie that has a mean, old, rich, fat, white guy in it.  You can bet your bottom dollar he will be a Republican!

The Death of the West

Last week an American Ambassador, J. Christopher Stephens, was murdered.  It happened in the American Embassy in Libya on September 11.  Muslim extremists stormed the Embassy and killed him and three other Americans.  By all accounts, this man was a good man and he was there to do all he could do to help the Libyan people.   The Obama administration says it is tragic.  No outrage, no anger, it was just “tragic”.  This is not the America the world needs right now.

President Obama and his administration seem to think that if they are nice to the Muslim dominated countries, if they don’t condemn the extremists among them, that they can all be friends—as long as they snub Israel, of course.  This administration, the mainstream media, the celebrities, they all don’t seem to grasp the fact that the extremists don’t want to be friends with the West.  They just want us dead.  Plain and simple.  They want to kill our way of life and no amount of talking, and talking, and talking some more will change that.  They are also very patient.  Generations can go by and they will still get their revenge for whatever they perceive as insulting.

These latest murders were done under the guise of retaliation for an online movie that disparages Islam.  So the American government and the mainstream media are apologetic and condemn anyone who would make such a movie.  But what would they say about someone making a movie disparaging Christianity?   Give that man an Oscar!!!  

The authorities, however, are saying that the movie was probably used as an excuse to riot, to justify their outrage, although you don't hear that in the media.  These extremists are playing us in the West and we are bending over backwards to accommodate them.  To apologize to them is a sign of weakness and that gives them strength.  It doesn’t appease them, it justifies their cause and makes their resolve even stronger.

If the tide doesn’t turn soon, if Obama wins a second term, I fear for the West.  Our Prime Minister is doing what he can on the world stage and I certainly commend him for that.  However, if the Americans are not onside, if they keep trying to appease the radicals, our freedoms may slowly continue to disappear.

When will they learn that these Muslim radicals are savages?  You can’t reason with savages.

Audacity of the United Nations

Recently, the United Nations' Human Rights Council, sent a bureaucrat, Olivier De Schutter, to Canada to investigate our "right to food".   With all the atrocities in the world (so much of which they do nothing about) they come here to investigate Canada.  How ridiculous! The nerve and the gall of these people is laughable.  If they can have countries like Iran, China, and Zimbabwe, who are all known for their brutality against their own people (especially their women) sitting on the Commission on the Status of Women, then what credibility can they have.   And the dictator of Libya, Moammar Gadhafi, was named to the UN's Human Rights Council, Human Rights Council, when he is so well known for his brutality.

They are a bunch of useless, condecending, left-leaning blowhards that preach to Canada about how European socialism is the only way to go.  Well, look at the state of Europe, it is falling apart around their ears!  How dare they come here to criticize us??? 

Are we perfect?  Of course not.  There is always room for improvement.  However, Canada is one of the most stable countries in the world, who gives millions and millions to less fortunate countries every year, over and above the millions it gives to the UN.   They are out of touch with reality and I wish Canada would withdraw. 


Our mainstream media, led by CBC, fawn over these UN phonies like they really know what they are talking about.  They have targeted Canada because they don't like our Prime Minister.  He doesn't do their bidding like Jean Chretian did so they are trying to discredit us in the eyes of the rest of the world, and our mainstream media laps it up with such enthusiasm.  It makes me sick.


The UN used to be credible, now it is full of bureacrats whose main goal is to rule the world.  It may sound ridiculous, but pay attention, a one-world government is a goal that they have been working towards for quite some time. 

Quebec's Rioting Thugs (Oh, I mean Students)

It is high time that the authorities in Quebec crack down on the bullies masquerading as students.  These moochers are rioting in protest against a small increase in their tuition, a tuition that is subsidized by you and me.  Students in the rest of Canada pay considerably more for tuition than they do in Quebec, and still these ungrateful, self-indulgent thugs throw this tantrum.  This behavior is despicable, although not surprising, given the culture of the last decade or two, in which these ingrates have been raised to think they are so special.  I am very tired of tax dollars from hard-working Canadians, through equalization payments, going towards supporting these slackers.

Even though Premier Jean Charest is now starting to get tough with them, he already sent the wrong message by previously giving in to them.  He consented to stretching the tuition increases over five years instead of three.  Even after five years though, they will still be paying less than what the rest of Canada is paying now.   But they aren’t satisfied with that.  They want free education.   Since, most of us know that nothing is free, that just means that you and me, in the rest of Canada (especially in the West), will pay more.

Quebec already receives over half of the equilization payments that the "have" provinces pay into (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland) and with our hard earned money, they give Quebecers $7 a day daycare.  Why is this allowed to continue?  Because no one wants to "upset" Quebec.  

I sincerely hope that Quebec separatists get fired up again so that the rest of Canada can say, GO ALREADY, WE ARE SO TIRED OF YOUR WHINING!!!

Alberta's Missed Opportunity

Last night’s provincial election in Alberta was a devastating blow to the small “c” conservative movement (if I can call it that).  My family and I (in Saskatchewan and Alberta) were watching the election and hoping that the tide was about to change--the tide of liberal thinking that is taking over every aspect of our lives. 

From the schools who are indoctrinating our children, to Hollywood who is trying to make every alternative lifestyle seem normal (no matter how deviant), to the environmentalists who lie about what the facts actually are, to politicians who perpetuate those same lies in order to get elected, to the so-called Human Rights Commissions that have nothing to do with actual human rights, to the bleeding hearts who want to bring the likes of Omar Kadhr “home”, to the worst culprit of them all, the left-wing media.  They are all trying to turn us into mealy-mouthed robots who dare not have an individual thought.

Danielle Smith says she is in it for the long haul, that she is not deterred by last night’s result.  I sincerely hope she means it, because she is a beacon of hope.  That might sound corny, but it is true.  She is the only politician who has had the courage to say things like “the science is not settled on climate change”.  She is a straight shooter in a time when shooting straight seems to be a thing of the past.  We need it to come back.

I encourage everyone to read a speech that Danielle gave in Quebec to the Reseau Liberte-Quebec Convention before our last federal election.  A portion of this speech to Quebecers was about the federal transfer payments which come from provinces like Alberta and go to provinces like Quebec.  Here is a quote:

“To which I would add that the megabillion-dollar cost of much of this endless sloshing of funds between regions has left Alberta as the whipping-boy of the federation. How can Albertans not be just a little bit resentful? Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff is doing the same by proposing a massive new wealth transfer out of Alberta through a cap and trade scheme. Your own Premier last year went to Copenhagen to accuse Alberta of crimes against the planet, and then sent a trade mission to Alberta to hussle up some oilsands business – all while receiving billions in net program benefits through the silent federal siphon that pulls money from Ontario and Alberta into Quebec and the Atlantic.

The cynicism and bare-faced hypocrisy are breath-taking to us back home in Alberta.”

Can you see Allison Redford saying anything like that?  Between her and Naheed Nenshi (Calgary’s mayor), Calgary will just be an extension of Toronto.  The thought of it turns my stomach.

I could go on, but you get my point.  Hang in there Danielle, we need you.

Opportunists Prey on Trayvon

The shooting death in Florida of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African-American, is tragic.  However, the way Jessie Jackson, Sr. and Reverend Al Sharpton, both Baptist ministers and civil rights activists, have latched on to this tragedy is disgusting.  They are both using this young man’s death to further their agendas.

George Zimmerman, who was on a Neighbourhood Watch patrol, said he was attacked by Martin and that he shot him in self defense.  So far the evidence seems to support his claims; however, the matter is under investigation.  Mr. Zimmerman is now in hiding though, afraid for his life, because of the uproar contributed to (if not started by) these pastors.  Jessie Jackson has said “blacks are under attack” and that Treyvon was “murdered and martyred”.  They fail to mention, however, that most young black men who are murdered, are murdered by other young black men. Do these two very influential leaders want to cause a race war?  Is that their agenda?

The New Black Panther Party is offering a $10,000 reward for the “capture” of Zimmerman.  They are also distributing T-shirts calling Zimmerman a “Cracker”.  Since he is Hispanic, why would they do that? They are picking a fight, but their target is not the Hispanic community.

If blacks are under attack, it is other blacks that they need to be afraid of, according to one black man who contributed to a blog called “Booker Rising”.  He says, “Allow me to expose a very open secret.  The one of the reasons [sic] why most Blacks like you and me have made the decision to move away from the city and to the suburbs (where the White people are) is for the safety of our family.”   [these are his words, not mine]

With the economic climate being what it is in the U.S. right now, people might be ready for a fight.  Mr. Jackson and Mr. Sharpton better by careful, they might very well be poking a mad dog with a stick.

Feminism's Fight Against Nature

For all you young women out there who are conflicted with the “stay home or go back to work” dilemma after having children, I highly recommend a book called The Flipside of Feminism; What Conservative Women Know—and Men Can’t Say by Suzanne Venker and Phyllis Schlafly.  I do caution you to read it with an open mind, though, because it goes against everything feminists have been telling us--or I should say drilling into us--for the last few decades.  And even if you don’t consider yourself a feminist, their ideas have infiltrated all our lives.

A recent report by the National Bureau of Economic Research says “As women have gained more freedom, more education, and more power, they have become less happy.”  Why is that?  Is it because women try to have it all, a career and children, and find that while they can do both, they can’t do both well, at least not at the same time.  So maybe putting a career on hold for a few years until the children are in school isn’t such a bad idea--or better yet, for those who can, work from home.

I am certainly not saying that we should go back to the world of the 50’s (not a chance); however, I think it’s time for feminists to stop screaming inequality.  And I also think it’s time for society (led by feminists) to stop pressuring women to go back to work after having children.  If a family can manage it financially, then who better to be the care giver?

Radical feminists hate this book, of course, and they do not want you to read it.  They want women to think they are still oppressed.  There is a quote about feminists being a disagreeable bunch, and that “It’s impossible not to be bitter when you’re banging your head against the wall trying to keep the sun from rising.”  That is what radical feminists are doing in their quest for trying to make women think they are exactly like men.  They are not.

Feminism is a fight against nature.

Hysteria Over Child's Drawing

Imagine this scenario:  You are the father of a 4 year old girl who is in preschool or junior kindergarten.  Just like every other day, you go to the school to pick her up along with her siblings.  However, on one particular day, when you arrive at school, three police officers are there and they arrest you right in front of the school and all the other parents and children.  They take you to the police station, strip search you, and then put you in a cell to wait.  The charge is “possession of a firearm”—no other details.

Meanwhile, back at home, your wife (who happens to be pregnant) is picked up by the police and taken to the station for questioning, along with your four children. She is told the same thing “possession of a firearm” but no details.  Your home is searched while you and your family are gone and the police find what they are looking for—a gun.  The kicker is, it isn’t a real gun.  It’s a plastic toy.

The little four year old girl had drawn a picture of a man holding a gun.  When her teacher asked her about it she said her dad uses it to shoot bad guys and monsters.  So this teacher told the principal, the principal called social services, social services called the police, and so on, and so on.  At ANY point, did ANYONE think they might be overreacting?  Apparently not.

This happened in Waterloo, Ontario, a few days ago.  When this father finally got home after being held for four hours, his little girl said “Daddy, are you mad at me?”  The poor man, can you imagine how frightening this whole incident must have been for him and his family?

What is wrong with people?  Do they really think “better safe than sorry” justifies this? 

American Billionaires Manipulate Environmental Movement

Don’t believe them, they are lying to you!!!  I am talking about environmental groups who keep screaming about Canada’s oil sands.  They misquote studies, they exaggerate statistics, and generally make things up as they go along and the mainstream media quotes them as though it were the gospel.

Some of these environmental groups are being funded by American billionaires, such as the Rockefeller brothers, according to Vivian Krause, an independent blogger who has also written several articles for the National Post.   For the last five years, she has been researching the tax returns of several environmental organizations to find out where their money was coming from for their campaigns.  You can check her out at www.fair-questions.com.  As the old saying goes, “follow the money” and you might find some answers, which she did.

Her articles contain so much information that it is difficult to decide what to tell you.  However, she had first discovered that the B.C. farmed salmon companies had been greatly damaged by the campaigns launched by the Suzuki Foundation along with others which falsely claimed that PCB’s were extremely high in farmed salmon.  These campaigns according to Ms. Krause were financed by the same American billionaires.  However, she implies that their motives may be more economical than environmental.  The biggest beneficiary of the collapse of the B.C. farmed salmon industry was the Alaskan wild salmon industry, and she has proof that these same Americans are directly tied to the wild salmon industry.  Now they have set their sights on Canada’s oil sands and they are determined to stop the oil from flowing.  That would have catastrophic effects on the economy of this whole country. 

There is one foundation in particular named by Ms. Krause that my husband and I have contributed to in the past who will certainly not be receiving anything further from us in the future.  They have taken our money at their fund raisers all the while it seems they were scheming to take away our livelihood.  

Please pay attention people, they are lying to you.

Political Correctness and Addiction

Why won’t they stop?  Why????  Valentine’s Day has already been watered down by the fact that students in school can’t give cards to just the special people in their lives, they must give them to everyone in their class.  What’s the point, there is no specialness in that, and isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is about?  The special people in your life?  And now the politically correct gurus at Caroline Robbins School in Saskatoon have renamed Valentine’s Day as White, Pink, and Red Day.  This is so pathetically sad, I don’t know what else to say about it.

In other news this week, another member of the rich and famous has died of a suspected overdose.  With the death of Whitney Houston, tragic as it is, I have heard it mentioned again that addiction is a disease just like cancer, or any other disease.   I completely disagree with that notion.  It is NOT the same.

Addiction is labelled as a disease these days in order to free the addicted from any responsibility.  I don’t say this because I think it is easy to deal with an addition.  I know it is not.  I also know that addiction is often the symptom of other problems, such as depression.  Depression, I agree, is a disease and the afflicted should receive whatever help they need.  However, to include addiction in that category removes the implication that there was ever any choice in the matter.  With addiction, there is always the beginning in which there is a choice.  Even after a person is addicted, there is still a choice to get help or not.

When it comes to cancer, there is NEVER any choice in the matter.  So please stop calling addiction a disease and call it what it is, an addiction.

Seniors and Porn (but not at the same time)

The federal opposition parties, along with the media, are stirring up trouble by insinuating that old age security (OAS) benefits are going to be cut.  They are completely overreacting and making seniors worry needlessly when all that was announced was that there would be a review of OAS.  This government has said that any changes that may be made will have NO EFFECT on any current seniors, nor even anyone who is currently over the age of 50.

One of the possible changes may be that they raise the eligible age from 65 to 67.  People are now living much longer than they were when OAS was first set up, so benefits are now being paid out for much longer periods of time, something it was not designed for.  In addition, right now there are between 4 and 5 working people for every senior.  Come 2030, the projections are that there will be two working people for every senior.  Do we really want to leave that burden for our children and grandchildren?

  

All of our social programs need to be reviewed and have needed to be reviewed for quite some time.  However, nobody to date has had the courage to even mention any changes, let alone make any, because of the backlash.  Prime Minister Harper is not going to hang seniors out to dry, no matter what Bob Rae, Nycole Turmel, or the ever trouble-making media may have you believe.

On a much, much different note, did you know that CBC is in the porn business?  Yep, you read it right.  Porn.  They have purchased from France (with your money, of course) a French TV series called “Hard” and they are running it for free on their website Tou.tv.  They claim it isn’t really porn, however, I have seen some of the scenes from one episode and it is definitely porn.  Now, before you get the idea that I was surfing the internet looking for porn, I was actually watching SunTV and they showed some scenes from it (with the actors’ unmentionables covered, of course).

All I can say is this--with all the much needed cuts this federal government has made and will be making in the future, they damn well better be making some cuts to the CBC.
